  1. Online Mathematics Diagnostics Tool (OMDT)
        Role: Project Design and Coordination
The tool was first introduced for the Faculty students in 2012 and implemented University wide in 2017 as the first of the kind online diagnostic tool which automatically connects student performance in online tests to online remedial modules through in-built intelligence. The tool provides opportunities to USP freshmen to upskill and have similar levels of mathematics knowledge as other incoming students. I treat OMDT as a major achievement of USP.
  2. USP mLearning
         Role: Committee Chair (until 2017)
A number of mobile learning (mLearning) services and apps have been introduced across USP since 2012, with the first SMS notification service introduced in an online course MA101 which I coordinated in 2011. The mlearning applications which were in good use included edutainment, web-based exam timetable, SMS notifications, and the web mobile module. A number of new mobile apps and services had been introduced in 2016-2018 including the conference app and app for one of the Fijian government ministries. M-Learning had also received good reviews and commendations from accreditation bodies and external reviewers as excellent student support tool.
  1. Tablet Learning Project (TLP)
        Role: Project Implementation and Coordination
Introduced in selected programmes in selected campuses (2013 & 2017) which formed seed projects for the free distribution of tablets to first year new students in 2017.
  1. Online Course Conversion
       Role: Project Coordinator
The face-to-face courses are converted to online courses with all materials and activities made available on Moodle. I have coordinated the design of online courses and the development of 4 fully online programmes (BSc – CH/MA; BSc – MA/PH; BSc – IS/MA; BSc – IS/CH) in the faculty. I have also coordinated and co-developed MA101 (mathematics for social science) which was the first online undergraduate course developed in USP.
  1. Science Teachers Accelerated Programme (STAP)
       Role: Project Design and Coordination
STAP is an innovative cohort-taught model designed in 2014 to deliver science programmes to science teachers in the region. After a successful completion of STAP I in Samoa with 52 teachers, STAP II was introduced in Tonga (30 teachers), Vanuatu (90 teachers) and Samoa (55 teachers), sponsored by their governments. I have worked with staff and heads of a number of schools, support sections and regional campuses within USP and senior officials from regional governments and donors to make these programmes successful.
  1. In-Country Science Programme in Tonga & Vanuatu
       Role: Project Design and Coordination
This project commenced in December 2016 for offers full science programmmes in Tonga for BSc (BI & CH), BSc Environmental Science and BSc Marine Science to a cohort of more than 130 students which included a total of 30 students sponsored by the Government on Tonga, 20 students sponsored by the Asian Development Bank and more than 50 private students. Vanuatu programme started in July 2018. I have worked with staff and heads of a number of schools, support sections and regional campuses within USP and senior officials from regional governments and donors to make these programmes successful.
  1. Science Circus Pacific
       Role: Coordination
Leading a team from USP to collaborate with Australian National University for Science Circus Pacific in the Pacific region. The partnership was launched at USP in June 2019: https://www.usp.ac.fj/news/story.php?id=3092
  1. Basic Statistical Literacy OER for Pacific
    Role: Project Design and Coordination
Led a team from FSTE to design and implement a new OER – Basic Statistical Literacy for the Pacific. This tool targeted for school dropouts, mature students, workers and homemakers. The OER was presented during the Open Education Design Workshop in Slovenia 1-5 July, 2019.

In addition to the above projects, I have also coordinated for FSTE and USP – eMentoring, Preparation for Higher Education Workshops (PHEW!), Refresher and Induction Programme (RIP), PEUMP, First Global (for USP member countries), multiple Hackathons (sponsored externally), and conceptualized the USP Innovation Hub, to name a few.

  1. Statistical Analysis of TEL at UPNG – 2020
       Role: Lead Consultant
Technical Impact of Technology-Enabled Learning on Student Learning Experiences and Teacher Pedagogic Practices at The University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG). This was a consultancy work for CoL which involved data analytics.
  1. Right to Information Projects with UNDP – 2020-2023
        Role: Lead Consultant
UNDP Improving citizens’ access to information and strengthened oversight by non-state actors through Innovation projects for STEMP. Phase I completed in 2022 and currently am working on a new LoA for Phase II that will run until March 2023. The project has a number of activities such as RTI workshops (f2f ad virtual), train of trainers workshops, hackathons and prototyping RTI tools for Pacific that I design, coordinate and report.
  1. VINETA with Technical University of Berlin (TUoB) – 2021-2023
        Role: Main Collaborator
Innovative low-pressure membrane process as a modular solution for centralized potable water treatment project with Technical University of Berlin. New water filtration systems to be installed in selected communities in Fiji and Marshalls. One unit will also be installed in USP. Activities also include needs assessment report, training of representatives from communities, and water testing and associated analysis.
