Non-communicable diseases, Nutritional Psychology
Having a background in Psychology, Education and Biology, I worked and volunteered in diverse work environments as an academic, consultant and counsellor. I have been teaching Research Methods, Cross-cultural Psychology and Community and Health Psychology courses at The University of the South Pacific since 2010 and has been appointed as a Visiting Fellow in the School of Medicine, Western Sydney University since 2019. My research focuses on non-communicable disease prevention through controlling diets with a special interest in factors that influence food choice, dietary regulation, and eating appropriateness standards within Pacific communities. My MA research focused on experiences of HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination in Fiji.
