Preparing Our Engineers

The University of the South Pacific’s Engineering department is committed to producing the best quality of engineers for the field, hence it offers the Industrial Work Experience programme alongside other units. This programme concentrates in involving students in workshop courses where they learn to handle various types of tools & machinery in the exact manner. Civil Engineers are required to know the most basic of carpentry knowledge, this programme delivers as such from educating students on ratios of site concrete mix, identifying the correct materials used on sites till doing quality assurance tests. Equipping this basic skillset is vital to any engineer going out on the field as it keeps them safe from hazardous situations as well. The Industrial Work Experience programme will allow students to better prepare themselves for the workplace by developing practical skills as well as academic ones.
