Bio
Mrs. Cathy Hite joined USP in August 2020 as the Manager of the USP Community Legal Information Centre at USP Emalus Campus in Port-Vila, Vanuatu.
Cathy led a successful career as a legal practitioner in the public sector of the Solomon Islands. She was a Senior Legal Research Officer at the Solomon Islands law Reform Commission, a Senior Legal Officer within the Public Solicitors Office (Honiara), a Principal Legal Officer at the Public Solicitors Office (Auki, Malaita Province). In addition to her work as a legal practitioner, Cathy was appointed as the Secretary to the Solomon Islands Government Lawyers Association, was an Executive Member of the Solomon Islands Bar Association and a Member of the Solomon Islands Anti-Human Trafficking Advisory Committee.
Cathy has also been the recipient of several prestigious scholarships and awards. She is an alumna of the East-West Center (through the Pacific Islands Leadership Programme with Taiwan) and also was selected to participate in prestigious leadership programmes such as The Obama Foundation Leaders and the Asia Pacific Program.
