Bio
Professor Eric taught at several universities in Scotland and Canada before moving to Bond University in Australia, where he was Professor of Law (1989-2011) and Dean of the Faculty of Law (1995-2000).
From 2011 to 2019, he was Professor and Head of the School of Law at the University of the South Pacific. Following his retirement, he has continued to teach in the School as a Consultant Course Coordinator. He has written on issues in jurisprudence and Canadian constitutional law as well as the criminal law of Canada, Australia and the South Pacific Island nations. He has acted as a consultant to law reform agencies in Canada and Australia. His publications have often been cited by the Supreme Court of Canada.
He is also Professor Emeritus at Bond University in Queensland, Australia.
