Combine your interest in Linguistics with the in-depth study of one or more languages, by taking a major in Pacific Language Studies. The major contains three core courses – one at each level – from the Linguistics programme, which provide a broad appreciation for the linguistic diversity of the Pacific region. Students following this option as part of a double major then take up to five courses from one of the language tracks to complete the major. For a single major, students may specialise in two different languages.
Language tracks currently offered for the Pacific Language Studies major are:
Chinese
Cook Islands Māori
Fijian
French
Hindi
