Biography

Employed in the role of Manager Development Cooperation since May 2014, Iresh is primarily responsible for fostering and maintaining effective working relationships with key development partners of the University and mobilising resources from the University’s key donor partners to support its core functions and project initiatives.  He serves as the University’s point of liaison for all contractual agreements, Memorandum of Understandings and development partner related matters.

In terms of qualification, Iresh is Bachelor of Arts (BA) graduate in Sociology and Literature/Language from USP and further acquired a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Policy and Administration from USP and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Fiji. He is completing his Master of Arts (MA) in Social Policy and Administration from USP with an expected completion in Semester 1, 2022 and also three units away from completing his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from The University of Fiji, which is expected to be accomplished at the end of Trimester 2, 2022.

Iresh has more than fourteen (14) years of accumulated working experience with the University and United Nations (UNDP and ILO) on Partnerships and Contracts Management; Programme and Project Management; and Grant Management with grassroots community level within Fiji and the Pacific region in collaboration with regional Governments and donor partners. At the management and administrative level, he has experience with development and management of medium to large development programmes, strategic planning, budgeting, administration, developing effective partnerships and managing grants in compliance with signed contractual agreements. On the thematic front, his technical competency and experience is in areas of Disaster Risk Management/Reduction (DRM/R); Civic Education; Local Governance, Tertiary Education, Disability Inclusion, Enterprise Development and Labor Standards.
