Fiji Teacher Registration Authority (FTRA) Orientation

The Fiji Teacher Registration Authority conducted an Orientation for the prospective teachers doing Education at the Campus on 5th May 2022. There were two programmes organised whereby one was held at USP Pacific TAFE and the other at the main campus.

The programme had a package designed to address teacher registration requirements, ethics and code of conduct and mainly the steps from now that the new students are needed to take in order to become certified and registered teachers.

According to the SAS Coordinator, Mr. Sanjeev Sharma, “this is an initiative which is always welcome and today our students are well informed of the requirements of teacher registration and expectations of them.”

There were about a hundred new students and future teachers in attendance. “It was a well-organised and informative session,” said Toushiv Naidu, a BAGCED first year student.

The Campus Staff had joined the FTRA Staff for lunch and afternoon tea. The Induction plan of teachers at the campus was discussed. The day ended with positivity and an exchange of how we could organise a future event for the upcoming teachers at the campus.
