Bula Re and Welcome to USP Savusavu Centre

It is with great pleasure and honour to welcome you to the USP Savusavu Center web page.

The USP Savusavu Centre is situated in the heart of Savusavu Town.  It was officially opened on the 26th of November, 2005 by the Chairman of the Advisory Committee Northern, Mr. Sitiveni Rabuka. On the 29th of September, 2015 the center moved to its current location which is the Gulabdass group of buildings, main street, Savusavu Town. The centre comes under the USP Labasa Campus and there are currently four staff working fulltime at the centre.

The centre was established to cater for the increasing number of students from the Cakaudrove Province and Kubulau in the Bua Province. It is primarily for the purpose of accessing programmes through the DFL mode and Continuing Education. The centre offers counselling services, e-mail and internet facilities and satellite classes through our REACT (Remote Education and Conferencing Tool) system.

Savusavu center currently compromises an administration department, one computer lab and student kiosk, two satellite rooms, 1 lecture room with computer and a library. With an upgrade of our data line we hope to rake in more student numbers from years to come. Our IT programmes, certification and advances certificate in IT is introduced through continuing education with computers and internet available for the course.

I sincerely hope that you will find our site very pleasant and informative.

Savusavu Centre IT Programme

The Savusavu Centre IT programme, Certificate and Advance Certificate in IT Level is introduced through the Continuing and Community Education (CCE) with computers and internet available for the courses.  The programme which is run for a duration of 10 weeks will give IT targeted skills that can be used in your personal or professional life.  As the pandemic accelerated many organisations had to transform digitally and it is believed that there is an IT skills divide that needs to be bridged.  The Savusavu Centre after a lapse of 2 years and due to the social restriction brought by the pandemic had started with its first cohort delivering the ACIT and CIT programmes again to school leavers and those who are working and need to develop their IT skills.  The 10 weeks training course culminated with a small graduation and the awarding of certificates to students.
