USP Labasa Campus gave a hearty welcome to the new and continuing students in Semester 2, 2020. While there were approximately 30 new students on board, the day was filled with a ray of hope for the new students.
“USP Labasa Campus has been here for 20 years now and we look forward to journey together with you as this year is special embarking on the twentieth year” was the welcoming remark by the Campus Director. The Campus Director, Dr Bogitini also illumined on the successes of the University and congratulated the new students for making it to Labasa Campus assuring the students that they remain the focus of the University and the Campus.
The day’s programme had sessions which included Success & OHS, SLS, Campus Tour and Moodle Training. There were also engaging activities organised. As such, Dr Aue engaged students in a creative activity session of designing a pyramid with the theme, “innovation, creativity and hard work”. It was more of a fun – filled learning activity for our new students.
Savusavu Campus also conducted its Orientation on Friday, which had the same programme as that of Labasa Campus. The students thoroughly enjoyed the day which had the day packed with informative, motivational and interactive sessions.
As we reflect on the turbulences of the year, the Staff and Student Association ensured that students are made to feel safe and encouraged through USP alumni videos and activities. There was also joy in the ride as we all had a great time knowing each other over refreshment in Labasa and Savusavu.
