Why did you choose to study Management?

I always wanted to step into a leadership role – something I was determined to do from the first day I started classes at USP and I knew studying Management was the way to achieve my goal.

Briefly reflect on your student life at USP?

I had quite a few opportunities which I treasure. Apart from my core studies, I participated in the JENESYS 2.0 Program and later went on to help form an Alumni known as the Japan- Pacific Alumni Association in which I served as the Vice President for about three years. I also worked as a Peer Mentor and First Year Student Ambassador. I had incredible networking opportunities and at the same time gained a lot of experience. Overall, my student life in USP was life-changing.

How do you think the School of Management helped you in your career?

I had guidance from learned lecturers/ tutors that helped me throughout my time at the university.

Please provide details on the major achievements of your career?

I started off at Mind pearl where I was promoted from entry–level position to a senior position within two weeks or commencement. A year later, I was appointed as a Senior Committee Officer at the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji. Two months into working here, I was selected to represent the Fijian Parliament at the Inter-Parliamentary Study Program which was held in the Australian Federal Parliament. I was also awarded the “Employee of the Year” for 2018.

Why did you choose to study Management?

I studied (and continuing) Management because I was/am interest in how organizations manage their critical resources eg human etc.

Briefly reflect on your student life at USP?

I enjoyed and continue to enjoy my life as a USP student. The uni has opened my eyes to a world which was oblivious to me. Frankly, I find peace in uni.

How do you think the School of Management helped you in your career?

The School helped in imparting knowledge that is critical to my career.

Please provide details on the major achievements of your career?

Ever since I joined my current employment, I have continuously achieved things for eg. promotions etc.

Reema Amrita Singh

Why did you choose to study Management?

I chose to study Management because Management causes are utilized in all the industries and at all levels. It is an important course that allows an individual to understand the link between organizations and its people (employer and employee). Management is very interesting with a vast amount of information which helps me to understand my employer, especially with the ever-changing world.

Briefly reflect on your student life at USP?

My Student life at USP was awesome. I made great friends, challenged myself to work under pressure (was a Senior Peer Mentor in 2017) and I learnt valuable lessons which I currently use. USP taught me independence and interdependent and when to use each. This I currently practice at work. During my student years, I had learnt to be outspoken, bold and confident. I had enjoyed my student life at USP and even though I may have gone through lots of assignments and long nights of studying, I miss my student life at the USP.

How do you think the School of Management helped you in your career?

School of management helped me in my career by providing the required education. School of Management taught me a whole lot of lessons which I currently practice in my organization. School of Management has allowed me to think “out of the box” and achieve my goals. I am proud to say that I chose to study at USP and School of Management.

Please provide details on the major achievements of your career?

One of my major career achievements was that within 10 months of me joining my Organization (during my Graduate Program at Digicel), I was awarded a special recognition award for doing a great job with business partnering with my Market (Nauru) and for overlooking OHS. This award was handed to staffs by Digicel Chairman Denis O’Brian.
