Master of Commerce in Accounting

On successful completion of this programme, graduates should be able to:

  1. Formulate coherent and feasible research proposals in the field of Accounting at the masters level.
  2. Examine critically current issues within the Accounting literature and discipline in the local, regional and international context.
  3. Apply an appropriate theoretical framework to examine an Accounting issue.
  4. Implement an appropriately designed instrument to collect quantitative and/or qualitative data in the field of Accounting.
  5. Analyse data to achieve robust, and logical conclusions in Accounting and cognate fields.
  6. Report research findings using appropriate academic conventions in the field of Accounting.
  7. Incorporate recommendations and suggestions from supervisors, peers and examiners, to improve the quality of research outputs.
