Master of Commerce in Population Studies & Demography

On successful completion of this programme, graduates should be able to:

1. Formulate coherent and feasible research proposals in the field of population and demographic studies.
2. Review critically literature/scholarly positions, trends and current issues within the field of population and demography in a local, regional and international context.
3. Apply an appropriate theoretical framework to examine a demographic issue.
4. Implement an appropriately designed instrument to collect quantitative and/or qualitative data in the field of population and demography.
5. Analyse data to achieve robust and logical conclusions on demographic issues and cognate fields.
6. Report research findings using appropriate academic conventions in the field of demography.
