Land Management was established at USP in the 1980s and has since evolved to address the needs and interests of government, industry, and the broader South Pacific community. Effective land management is crucial for the livelihoods and well-being of the South Pacific, requiring a comprehensive understanding of environmental, economic, geographic, legal, social, and spatial factors to support informed decision-making by governments, businesses, organizations, and individuals. Graduates of USP’s Land Management program are highly sought after by a diverse array of employers for their expertise in all facets of land and property transactions, including acquisition, development, investment, management, planning, valuation, and sale throughout the South Pacific region.

Our staff are frequently sought out for their expertise in land management and development, both in urban and rural settings, and conduct research that is highly relevant to the peoples of the South Pacific. Together, our academic team offers comprehensive knowledge essential for the sustainable development of land resources in Pacific Island countries, achieved through innovative research and dynamic teaching.
