Discipline of Land Management and Development

The Discipline of Land Management and Development was established at USP in the 1980s, and our program has evolved to meet the interests and needs of government, industry and the wider community of the South Pacific.  Careful land management is central to the livelihoods and wellbeing of the South Pacific that draws on knowledge of environmental, economic, geographic, legal, social and spatial information for wise  decision making  by  governments, businesses, organizations and individuals.  USP Land Management graduates are highly valued by a wide range of employers for their expertise in all aspects of buying, developing, investing, managing, planning, valuing, and selling land and buildings across the South Pacific region.

Our staff are regularly consulted for advice of land management and development – in urban and rural contexts, and undertake research relevant to the peoples of the South Pacific.  As a team, the academic staff provide a holistic knowledge for sustainable development of land resources in Pacific Island countries through innovative research and engaging teaching. Please search further among these webpages or get in contact with us if you are interested in becoming a future graduate of Land management and Development at USP.
