The SLMD is currently negotiating with the Department of Lands & Survey for the government of Tuvalu to formulate its National land Use Policy. Such policies will set the framework for all land use planning activities, functions and roles performed by different agencies. Also it will address the legal framework, the institutional & governance structures and the implementation policies of land development.

Expertise within the existing staff members is an asset to the School with Land Planning, Land Economics and Property & Real Estate Investment. The School also has resource management legal expertise.
