Diploma of Justice

On successful completion of this programme, graduates should be able to:

  1. Explain the key functions of the courts within the legal system and Constitutional framework within the context of a Pacific jurisdiction;
  2. Explain the principles of justice, including fair trial, and their operation within the context of Pacific courts;
  3. Explain the basic principles of criminal law and procedure and civil law and procedure in a Pacific jurisdiction;
  4. Apply the basic principles of office management, personnel management, and court and case management to the work of a Pacific court;
  5. Demonstrate how the principles of professionalism affect the work of a Pacific court jurisdiction;
  6. Use judicial reasoning to resolve factual cases, at a basic level.
