Master of Arts in Governance (Thesis)

On successful completion of this programme, graduates are expected to be able to:

1. Formulate feasible research proposals at the Masters level in Governance.
2. Evaluate theoretical discourse and examine critically issues within Governance discipline.
3. Apply appropriate theoretical framework to examine Governance issues.
4. Design and implement appropriate instrument(s) to collect qualitative and/or quantitative data in the field of Governance.
5. Proficiently analyse data in Governance research to achieve robust and logical conclusions.
6. Communicate efficiently research output using appropriate academic conventions in the field of Governance.

 

Master of Arts in Governance (SRP)

On successful completion of this programme, graduates are expected to be able to:

1. Explain development concepts and theories, and examine critically issues within literature in the field of Governance.
2. Identify research philosophy and different methods used by social scientists for researching Governance-related issues.
3. Design data collection instruments for qualitative and/or quantitative data within the field of Governance.
4. Undertake research and analyse data in Governance research to draw logical conclusions.
5. Communicate research output using appropriate academic conventions in the field of Governance.

 

Master of Arts in Governance (Coursework)

On successful completion of this programme, graduates are expected to be able to:

1. Analyse the function and power dynamics of an extensive range of political institutions and actors in relation to governance.
2. Relate a broad range of relevant theories and concepts to governance in the Pacific and globally.
3. Critically appraise a wide selection of governance debates and practice in the Pacific and globally.
4. Present an advanced set of well-reasoned arguments and findings in the study of governance, based on critical analysis and effective use of appropriate sources of evidence.
5. Communicate a wide variety of governance concepts and approaches to a range of audiences in different contexts.
