Postgraduate Diploma in Arts (Psychology)

On successful completion of this programme, graduates are expected to be able to:

  1. Discuss psychological theories and research as related to one or more applied areas of psychology, including but not limited to mental health settings.
  2. Evaluate the utility of psychological concepts, theories, and tools within a multi-cultural and diverse setting, with specific focus on Pacific and indigenous populations.
  3. Conduct psychometric assessments and psychological report writing using appropriate tools and ethics related to one or more professional fields in psychology.
  4. Demonstrate communication skills as related to assessment and intervention in applied contexts, including but not limited to counselling and mental health.
  5. Employ a technical understanding of psychological research design and methodologies as informed by critical analysis of literature, psychological research ethics, and consideration of Pacific populations.
