On successful completion of this programme, graduates are expected to be able to:
- Critically evaluate theories and current scientific literature from one or more specific themes in the field of psychology relevant to the Pacific context.
- Interpret the range of potential meanings and explanations for the data collected in terms of the relevant research questions, past literature and Pacific context within the field of psychology.
- Develop appropriate research questions and hypotheses directly leading from published scientific evidence from one or more themes in the field of psychology.
- Design and conduct a research study using appropriate quantitative or qualitative methods of a complexity, size and advanced analysis appropriate for the Masters level and conforming to ethical and professional standards in the field of psychology.
- Deliver clear and effective presentation of research through verbal and written formats as appropriate for Institutional Review Boards and academic conferences in the field of psychology, using appropriate media and conceptual language.
- Report scientific research studies (background literature and research question justification, methods overview, presentation of data analysis and interpretation of findings) using appropriate APA formatting and referencing as would be required for standard research publications in psychology.
Master of Arts (Psychology) (SRP)
