Diploma in Vernacular Language (Cook Islands Maori)

On successful completion of this programme, graduates should be able to:

  1. Display competence in and understanding of Cook Islands Māori in different contexts increase the number of speakers of the language who are able to analyse it to an advanced level;
  2. Analyse linguistic and sociolinguistic usage of Cook Islands Māori in different contexts;
  3. Apply knowledge and skills developed within the programme to contemporary real-world scenarios;
  4. Create new materials in and about Cook Islands Māori, thereby building up a bank of contemporary resources for educational and public use. Apply knowledge and skills developed within the programme to contemporary issues of relevance to Niue people.
