On successful completion of this programme, graduates should be able to:

1. Identify key conceptual tools of understanding and, under close supervision, conduct research in a relevant area of study within the field of Pacific Studies.
2. Use current theoretical concepts, research methodologies, evaluative approaches, and key issues to reframe Pacific issues in a new light.
3. Formulate scholarly arguments and critical analysis in a significant area of research within the broad discipline of Pacific Studies.
4. Produce a scholarly thesis in the field of Pacific Studies, showcasing an appreciative depth of understanding.

 

Master of Arts (Pacific Studies) (SRP)

On successful completion of this programme, graduates should be able to:

1. Review the long continuum of diverse oral, linguistic, and cultural history of the Pacific.
2. Deploy contemporary theoretical and research tools in Pacific studies to illuminate key ideas in Pacific Studies.
3. Critically interrogate key issues in policymaking processes within the Pacific region.
4. Conduct research in the areas of relevant development in Pacific Studies.

 

Master of Arts (Pacific Studies) (Portfolio)

On successful completion of this programme, graduates should be able to:

1. Evaluate the long continuum of diverse oral, linguistic, and cultural history of the Pacific.
2. Produce a creative portfolio, showcasing Pacific art and its relevance to understanding the region.
3. Critically interrogate key issues within the broad discipline of Pacific Studies using art as an expressive tool.
4. Produce and portray an aesthetic body of work that consist of scholarly understanding of Pacific issues.
