Master of Education (SRP)

On successful completion of this programme, graduates should be able to:

1. Plan and conduct original research in collaboration with the supervisory team to extend knowledge in a focussed area of linguistics.
2. Communicate linguistics research findings effectively in a variety of forums and mediums including peer-reviewed publication(s).
3. Critically analyse and apply theoretical concepts and appropriate approaches to conduct original linguistics research on a selected topic.
4. Demonstrate ethical standards in conducting original linguistics research and in disseminating research findings.
5. Engage and actively participate with the diverse cultural Pacific communities in identifying and addressing issues relating to the resilience and sustainability of languages.

 

Master of Education (Coursework)

On successful completion of this programme, graduates should be able to:

1. Perform educational research, individually and collaboratively, by analysing scholarly resources and designing appropriate methodologies for a range of research topics.
2. Communicate ideas at an advanced level, in a wide range of educational contexts, using ICT and other appropriate tools
3. Critically analyse an advanced range of theoretical and pedagogical concepts and assess their relevance to educational contexts in the Pacific
4. Exhibit and justify the importance of ethical standards in research and professional practice in the educational discipline
5. Engage collaboratively with the diverse cultural Pacific communities in promoting educational notions for resilience and sustainability.
