Doctor of Philosophy (Applied Linguistics)

On successful completion of this programme, graduates should be able to:

1. Plan and conduct original research in collaboration with the supervisory team to extend knowledge in a focussed area of applied linguistics
2. Communicate applied linguistics research findings effectively in a variety of forums and mediums including peer reviewed publication(s)
3. Critically analyse and apply theoretical concepts and appropriate approaches to conduct original applied linguistics research on a selected topic.
4. Demonstrate ethical standards in conducting original applied linguistics research and in disseminating research findings.
5. Engage and actively participate with the diverse cultural Pacific communities in identifying and addressing applied language issues relating to resilience and sustainability.
