Diploma in Vernacular Language (Tongan and Niuafo’ou)

On successful completion of this programme, graduates should be able to:

1. Display competence in and understanding of Tongan and Niuafo’ou in different contexts;
2. Analyse linguistic and sociolinguistic usage of Tongan and Niuafo’ou in different contexts;
3. Apply knowledge and skills developed within the programme to contemporary real-world scenarios;
4. Create new materials in and about Tongan and Niuafo’ou, thereby building up a bank of contemporary resources for educational and public use.
